We recently utilized the power of our relationships with Toronto’s social media community to mobilize thousands of people across Ontario to come out and participate at Daily Challenge’s latest Do-Gooder initiative, Pay It Backward Day. Through all kinds of online outlets (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, the blogosphere, etc), we inspired over 15,000 people to visit a Second Cup café (Second Cup is the Canadian version of Starbucks) near them and offer to buy the drink for the person behind them in line in order to raise money for Toronto’s SickKids Hospital. The most amazing part of our event was that every time some one did something nice for the person behind them inline and offered to pick up their order our sponsors committed to donating $5.00 flat to the SickKids Hospital!!! (we broke a world record, raised lots of money and had a lot of fun)
